July Glymm

So for my July Glymm box, I was NOT impressed with what I got.

orange bag this time. (my fave colour, so at least I liked that)

coupon for discount on nail polish (didn't even use it)

Joico K-Pak revitaluxe conditioner. Sample size: 50 ml; full size: 150 ml for $25.

Haven't used it yet because I was on vacation and didn't bring this with me. I have high hopes for it because I"ve read many reviews on MUA that rave about it.

Dirt. salt scrub. Sample size: 15 ml; full size: 12 oz for $45.

Sounds so pricey! of course I haven't tried anything in this box yet as I was away on vacation and was trying to catch up with friends that I totally forgot about the box haha. I hear it's really good so I can't wait to use it.

Mane Tease Social Butterfly hair perfume. Sample size: 8 ml; full size: 50 ml for $34

Like the others I haven't used yet. I'm not sure if I will. It does smell good but I don't like spraying stuff on my hair. Not even hairspray unless I NEED to. I just feel like I'm contaminating my hair :P HAHA and my shampoo/conditioner does a really good job of making my hair smell good. Maybe I will use it tomorrow though because I'm going out to my friend's house after work and I usually smell of food after!

Cyberderm H2O hydration and PM Anti-age. No idea on the sizing and I can't seem to find what the retail price was supposed to be.

Super cute packaging! It said on the box "the sunscreen company" so I thought it was sunscreen and almost brought it on my trip but it's actually just moisturisers LOL. Will probably use this within the next few days and will update the posts.

Anyways that was all for my July Glymm, nothing that really WOW'ed me... Like I've stated before I do prefer more make up products as opposed to hair and face products because I'm quite strict with my routine.

Thanks for reading :)

Day 23

Sorry this is so delayed but I can't seem to locate my memory card. I will be posting one shortly but for now, I will have to quickly do my July & August Glymm and Topboxes!!

Day 22

Hello! :) Day before I leave to come home.

I woke up and had some com suon.

I then went to lounge in my bed LOL and then I went to go get my hair washed again :D YAY! hahaha Especially after going into the salt water at Phu Quoc, I thought my hair really needed some TLC. BTW , I seriously think my hair has grown a lot longer since I've been here :D WOOHOO!

Then we came home and ate some lunch.

gai lan with shrimp, minced pork balls and vietnamese celery and tofu soup, salted crispy fish and pork with eggs. in the baggie, we had some banh khot. It was alright haha

mom got some nuoc mia (sugar cane)

Sting Strawberry

I always see this on the streets and people ordering it but I never ordered it because I've never heard of "Sting" before and I was afraid it would taste disgusting (like cough syrup). Today I decided to get it because  I probably will not have the chance to again for a while so YEAH. It's actually an energy drink...LOL and my dad said people have died from drinking it , but meh that's like every energy drink out there! It was really good :D It didn't taste like cough syrup, it was like strawberry juice :P

SO my dad works with machines like fax machines and printers and such so he uses some puffer thing to clean certain parts and what not. ANYWAYS he found this huge one in the house LOL so he just had to take a picture of it. There's his hand for a size comparison. lmao

THIS was the ice cream I talked about in a post somewhere before the wedding.. LOL My cousin bought a bunch for me!! :D too bad it's all smushed together in a cup. but SO GOOD.

Finally we went out to eat dinner! It's a new place that just opened a few days ago. Just up the road from my grandma's house.

should've taken a pic of the name when we arrived instead of when we were leaving... lol
the beans we gotta pay for as well as the wet naps but the other plate there is free. we didn't actually eat the beans but were charged for it so we argued with them and they just gave us 2 bags to take home haha
In that third plate, it's pickled olives and pickled trai coc (I can't find the English name for it).  I hate olives but this was taking the disgusting taste to a whole new level.. :P the other stuff was so good though; it had the crunchiness of an unripened mango!

fried rice! it was alright, nothing special about it.

spring rolls with a mayo sauce. I liked the spring rolls too bad I couldn't determine what was inside it ahhaha

so my grandma is like a little kid sometimes :P she won't eat onions so she picked them out! that used to be me as a kid but now I don't mind eating onions :P

MANY flies were flying around and our area was the one spot that didn't have a fan attached to the pole. so instead they put one on the floor for us, but that didn't deter the flies so we propped it up on a chair LOL

seafood on top of a bon bon salad. LOL I can't seem to find out what bon bon is!!! Google you have failed me :( anyways, all I found out about it is that it's similar to bamboo which I agree with because that's what I thought it was! I didn't like the taste... it tasted like the smell of canned bamboo shoots. blech. the seafood was great though.

my dad and I were on a mission to kill flies because THAT's how many there were. We ended up only killing 3 altogether; 2 for my dad, 1 for me. Seriously, there's nothing more satisfying than killing a fly because they are so damn hard to kill!

a mystery dish arrived at the table

and once you opened it up... seafood with mushrooms & the tofu that tastes like egg!! SO GOOD. I could eat this all day.. lol!!

banana flower (the non-green one) and some type of herb called rau nhut

canh cua. hot and sour soup. this was not even sour.. LOL honestly it tasted sweet to me, but my relatives all thought it was sweet!! wth

this was the aftermath of us putting in the banana flowers and herb

I didn't know that there was actually EEL in this soup and one of the persons came and threw something in and I saw it swim in the hot water LOL so I asked my mom and she said that they forgot to put the tail portion into the soup. Since it was still alive that's why it was moving.

this is the eel head

seafood noodles! this was really good too :D

In total, our bill came to about $25. which includes 6 wet naps, 7 cans of pop, 2 bottles of water and the food!

Then we came home and I ate more of that ice cream LOL.

That is all for day 22!

Thank you for reading ;)

Day 21

Days are almost up! I realized it'll only be 23 days not 24 since I didn't actually arrive here till the 23rd... (due to time zone differences). Anyways that's besides the point :)

We woke up and went to go eat breakfast. We went to a different place but the food choices were pretty much the same.

banh canh cua for my parents, aunt and cousin

banh canh ga for me.

I've come to conclude this is what the legit noodles taste like and it's not bad but just not what I'm used to. Also, I hate chicken on bone with skin. This is definitely a first world problem for me but I only like eating chicken breast... so I gave most of my chicken to my mom except for one piece LOL In return she gave me some cha lua and pork pieces. blech. haha

my dad, aunt and cousin got cafe da (I managed to take a pic this time)

my mom and I got cafe sua da. This one was a bit sweeter than yesterdays which I don't mind since the coffee is usually so strong.

Remember the sapodilla from yesterday? We took them with us to our place of breakfast and had them cut them up for us LOL. I've had these before and the texture of them is a mixture of pears and apples, but SUPER soft. Like melt in your mouth soft. They're also very sweet. I wish I could describe the flavour to you but there's really no way of describing it. You just have to try it :) I'm pretty sure they sell it overseas too.

Afterwards, we went to a temple which was pretty and small. It was on a mountain area and SO serene. There were also many different fruit plants and pretty flowers!

some tiger thing with bamboo trees!

a 700 year old tree!!

a myrtle tree. that fruit I talked about ;P

a sheep?? LOL I'm not sure but so cute!

a dragon LOL

an actual dragon figure

see no evil!!! my dad didn't take the other 2 unfortunately :(

orchids :)

cherimoya!!

orchid on a tree lol

jasmine flowers. They smelled SO good!

We went to a nuoc mam place after.

These LARGE barrels are used to make nuoc mam! I believe it was 1/3 salt and 2/3 fish?? Something like that. The coolest part is that the wooden planks are held together by thin pieces of wood twined together. No nails are used because the rusting could cause the sauce to taste gross etc and have it be dirty. Although I don't know why they painted the outside of it a red colour LOL!!!

After this we went back to our hotel to rest where I had an unpleasant time :( I think I had food poisoning or something from the night before because I threw up my breakfast. WAHH. Sad and horrible. I felt soooo crappy for a good 30 mins... because then we had to leave for lunch -___-" I obviously ate nothing but still took pictures for my blog! I will assume everything was good because my cousin and my parents each took a business card so they could come back to the restaurant in the future.

AGAIN WITH THESE SIDEWAYS PICS . how annoying.

This is some sort of raw fish. I don't know what it's called but I believe it's indigenous to this area. When eaten raw, there are no bones but when you do cook the fish, bones appear. LOL I think the bones are probably hardened when cooked.... but I don't know what it's like raw because no way in hell would I put some raw seafood in me after my puking episode.

coconut

eggs with onion :P HHAA reminds me of Sing/Malay!

fried fish.. ugh the type I hate too lol

canh chua.

After this wonderful lunch that I never got to try but everything looked good, we went back onto our boat thingy (super dong 2) back to rach gia. I was afraid of getting motion sickness (like I did on the way to phu quoc) and so I bought some candies. I didn't end up eating them because I slept for the whole 2.5 hours since I was so tired and beat from my issue. I did take a picture of the goodies I bought when I got to my grandma's though. The total cost for this lot was $1.75 LOL the sugus cost 20 cents each, the gum cost 1.25 and the mentos was 10 cents. I guess they do up the price on the boat but it's still cheap to me! Also on the way home I actually looked at the prices of the cans of pop for purchase on the boat and it's only 50 cents a can.. LOL expensive by their standards but definitely not by ours!

After we got off the boat, I wanted to eat something so I got a bun. The chick told me there was nothing inside which is what I wanted. Well I really wanted one with coconut inside but they didn't have any... so I settled for the nothing. Unfortunately it had green bean LOL. I don't hate it but it's not what I wanted so I just ate around the filling :P First world problems I tell ya!

When we got back to my grandma's (around 6 pm), I wanted to eat some congee. Well I wanted to eat some since my problem happened but we couldn't find any so yeah.

congee with some shredded dried pork

waffles <3<3 I'm gonna miss these when I go home :(

That is it for 21! :)

Thanks for reading!!
